Welcome to my

Trombone Studio

In my studio my focus is on creating kind musicians. My trombone lessons focus on creating an environment in which the student feels comfortable and welcome to try out new things. This is done through an air of positivity so that they create a healthy response to making mistakes and enjoy the act of making music. Instruction will also focus on creating positive relationships with peers through a supportive teaching style asking for students to identify their own strengths as well as the strengths of others.

Lesson Policies

Cancellation: If you plan to cancel your lesson for any reason, please give me as much advance notice as possible. When you are cancelling lessons due to illness I ask that you contact me no later than 10:00am on the day of your lesson. In the case of inclement weather we will try to hold lessons virtually via Zoom. For scheduling conflicts I ask that you give me a minimum of one weeks notice.

Makeup Lessons: Please contact me directly via email to schedule a makeup lesson.

Practicing: It can be difficult to decide how much time you should devote to practicing each week. For my students I usually tell everyone to practice at least five days a week with beginner students practicing 15-25 mins/ day, intermediate students 25-30 mins/ day, and advanced students 45-60 mins/ day. Practicing is where most of your improvements are made, the more you play the easier everything becomes and the more free you feel to have fun on your instrument!

Materials: I ask that you come to every lesson with your trombone, assigned books, a pencil, and a willingness to learn.
